Pathways
Tailored, Transformative Education for Every Pupil
At St. James’, we believe that every pupil deserves a learning experience that truly reflects their individual aspirations, needs, and strengths. Our three distinct pathways—the Mainstream School, the Learning Hub, and the Learning Lodge—are designed to ensure each student thrives, whether their goal is university, vocational skills, or specialised support.
Our approach is unlike any other school, with pathways that are both flexible and highly personalised. Each pupil's academic journey is thoughtfully crafted to align with their unique needs and goals. From traditional academic tracks to specially designed support programmes, we celebrate every child’s potential and their own path to success.
Mainstream School
For puipl's following traditional academic routes, we offer a broad curriculum aimed at helping them excel in their GCSEs, A-Levels, and beyond, preparing them for university or other ambitions. We prioritise academic growth, supported by our amazing teachers who adapt their teaching to meet each student's potential. To find out more about our Mainstream provision, please click here.
The Learning Hub
Specifically designed for pupils needing tailored support, the Learning Hub offers a flexible, nurturing environment where individual needs come first. With a personalised timetable, one-to-one support, and small group sessions, pupils can focus on core skills, functional qualifications, and emotional well-being in a structured and supportive setting. This pathway emphasises functional learning, independent life skills through our Azdan programme, and emotional support networks that foster resilience, confidence, and independence. What Sets Us Apart?
Our commitment to creating a nurturing, adaptable educational environment is demonstrated by our small class sizes, dedicated staff, and holistic approach. Through continuous assessment, emotional support, and a sense of community, students are prepared for both academic and personal achievements. We believe that no two puoils’ needs are the same, so why should their educational pathways be?
