Speech & Drama
Speech and Drama is an excellent way for children of all abilities to learn effective communication, develop self-confidence and spark creativity.
All pupils at St. James’ have the opportunity to take part in optional one-to-one Speech and Drama lessons with our on-site teacher.
Speech and Drama teaches children how they can project their voice, portray different characters and confidently perform in front of audiences. They gain presentation skills, learn the importance of movement and body language and become better communicators; all skills which will benefit pupils throughout their school and adult life.
Not only are the lessons fun but pupils can also work towards a framework which is accredited by the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA).
There are numerous opportunities throughout the school year for pupils to perform on stage as well as a dedicated concert for pupils to perform their examination pieces to an audience in the Markham Hall.
